Comparisson between American and Venezuelans icons

Michael Jackson and Simon Diaz: As Michael Jackson was, Simon Diaz is a very important singer on Venezuela that represents us as a country. He represented us in the Latin Grammies. He sings a typical type of music in Venezuela called “Musica Llanera”.

Sodas as Coca-Cola and juices as parchita (passion fruit) juice: instead of a lot of soda in each meal we use to drink a lot of natural juices what is really healthy because those juices have less sugar than a soda, have no fats and no colorant.

Hamburgers and Arepas: Arepas are a Venezuelan typical food made with corn flour and is healthier than hamburger too because you can grill it, fry it, or cook it. And after that you open it with a knife to the half and put whatever you want, like cheese, meat, chicken etc.

Venezuelans Stereotypes

The people in Venezuela are a mixture between lots of ethnic groups so we can’t describe the Venezuelans with physics stereotypes.
Almost all the stereotypes of Venezuelans are corrects but in foreign countries, they have a lot of stereotypes about Venezuela as a country, those stereotypes are:
· In Venezuela the popular sport is baseball: that’s absolutely true, but we have a soccer team too called La Vinotinto and they are very popular. The people say baseball because our baseball players are excellent and some of them are spread all over the world, and in soccer we are not that recognized.
· Venezuela is only jungles: that’s not true at all, because even thou we have a lot of rivers and tropical jungles, that’s not the only thing in Venezuela, we have great cities, deserts, high mountains with snow, plains, a lot of beautiful beaches and many others things. They think about jungle because Venezuela is in a tropical area and Venezuelan wonders are majorly natural.

Venezuelans stereotypes are:

· Venezuelans like to dance and party: That’s true, Venezuelans always organize parties for almost all things, and in all the Venezuelans parties, music and dancing is the protagonist.
· Venezuelans are happy: in fact, Venezuela has and keep the Guinness record for having the happiest population on the world.

· Venezuelans are kind: if you go to Venezuela and you’re lost, in almost all times, Venezuelans will help you as hard they can, maybe they can take you to your destination, sounds good?

Essay, American happiness stereotype.

When we talk about in a foreign country we can imagine a tall (or maybe not that tall), white and blond person that has blue eyes or even a black person with curly black or brown hair and brown eyes. But the reality in America is that in this country exist a lot of ethnics groups such as Asian-American so, we must not describe them physically because that is a big mistake.
When we talk about American’s lives we can see a lot of similarities in what they want, in how they reach happyness. So that is the specific point that I picked for stereotype the Americans.

Americans, base their happiness in material things like having a better car, a big flat screen and a house with a swimming pool. They have misunderstood what their independence declaration says about happyness, that happiness is communitarian happyness, but they thought it as individual. But, why Americans are pursuing materials things?
Before the World War II finished, the Americans pursue of happyness was based on the family, because they lived on rural areas where all the members of the family had to work together to feed their families and themselves so, they could not be selfish with the others and the best happiness was to have your family next to you, or maybe eat a pie with them.
But at this time is very different what is happening, now they does not have to work together for feed
themselves, today is an era of abundance in which the person who has more money has more chances to reach the American meaning of happyness.
